Marjorie A. Howard, 87 of Bloomington formerly of Normal, passed away on Aug. 22 at 9:43a.m. at her home with her family by her side.

Marjorie’s service will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington with Rev. Paul Stroup officiating.

Following services burial will take place at Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to service on Friday at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials to be made to the American Heart Association.

Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.

Marjorie was born on Oct. 28, 1928 in Normal the daughter of Robert and Delpha Proctor Massie. She married Walter Howard on Dec. 23, 1951 in Bloomington.

She is survived by her husband Walter, her son; James Howard of Bloomington, grandchildren; Matthew (Sandy) Draper and Adam Draper, great grandchildren; Wes and Aiden along with a son-in-law; Brad Draper of Bloomington.

Marjorie is preceded by her parents, a daughter; Cheryl Draper and grandson; James Draper.

She was a 1946 graduate of Bloomington High School and attended college at Illinois State University. She retired from State Farm Insurance Company where she worked in the Accounting Department.

She enjoyed reading, gardening and traveling with her husband. Marjorie and Walter would spend a month every year either in Florida or Las Vegas vacationing. Marjorie never knew a stranger and made friends where ever she went.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
